Card games online: solitaire, mahjong and durak

These card games open right in your browser — free, with no sign-up and no deck to shuffle. The collection brings together solitaire, tile-based mahjong and durak, the Russian card game you play against the computer.

The best-known patience game is Klondike: one 52-card deck, seven columns and four foundations built up by suit from ace to king. Before each game you choose to draw one card or three, and the timed mode adds a bonus for speed. Spider solitaire is dealt from 104 cards into ten columns: play with 1, 2 or 4 suits and undo as many moves as you need.

Mahjong works like solitaire made of tiles. In Solitaire mode you remove free matching pairs from a layered layout, while in Connect you join pairs with a line that has no more than two turns. The timer is optional.

If playing alone gets dull, try durak with a 36-card deck, in the throw-in or transfer version, against one, two or three computer opponents. There are no live players at the table, but you can start a game whenever you like. Klondike and Spider keep an unfinished layout, so you can come back to it later.
