Destruction Games: Smash Buildings, Pictures and Whole Planets

Games: 6

Some days you just want to smash something, preferably in style. These six games let you do it at very different scales — from a single pixel picture up to a whole city or even a planet.

Tornado: Fury of the Elements makes you the master of a twister: tear through buildings and infrastructure, steer clear of protective structures and boost your destructive power as you go. Punching Excavator: Breakdown! is more methodical — you drive an excavator with detailed physics and take down anything from one-story houses to tall buildings, spending your earnings on better machinery. Idle Space Destroyer goes cosmic: build an army, upgrade your weapons and wipe out the last remaining planets.

There are calmer options too. Voxel Crusher is an ASMR clicker where the steel rollers of an industrial shredder grind objects layer by layer into thousands of voxels. Balls: Pixel Art and Pixel Chaos both ask you to knock painted pictures apart pixel by pixel; in Pixel Chaos you get a cannon, 10 attempts per image and power-ups like explosive balls and a rare laser beam. Start with those if you prefer careful aiming to pure mayhem. No download needed — it all plays in the browser.
