Genre: Platformers

Five platformers, and nearly all of them mix jumping with something else. Full Ninja and Shield and Sword both borrow from old-school beat 'em ups: the first has you leaping across rooftops and fighting other brawlers, the second gives the hero just two buttons — attack and block — and towers of ten-odd floors full of monsters. The Floor Is Lava! Balls leans toward puzzles, with surface physics and ball weight deciding whether you make it.

Jumper Man is a bottom-to-top dash with retro graphics, coins and skins to buy, and Platform Jumper is a gentler climb up a stack of platforms. A good fit if you grew up on console classics and like games where one well-timed press makes all the difference.
