Pixel Art Games: Retro Runners, Arcades and Action

Chunky pixels and bright retro visuals are what the six games here have in common, yet they play in quite different ways, from runners and scrollers to action and aim-and-shoot arcades.

For a pure reflex test, try Reaction Game: Flap!, a vertical scroller where you climb as high as you can, grab coins and avoid getting squeezed between closing blocks. Dangerous Bridge: Runner uses an isometric view: stop the moving bridge sections so they line up into a road for your car, then spend your coins on new skins. Fire Master! is an Indiana Jones–style dash with power-ups and level-ups that keeps your attention sharp.

If you'd rather take aim, two games are about breaking pictures apart. In Balls: Pixel Art you knock a painted image into pixels with balls, while Pixel Chaos gives you a cannon, 10 attempts per canvas and power-ups like explosive balls and a rare laser beam. And when you want something louder, Crazy Survival is pixel-art action against crowds of monsters, with weapon and skill upgrades. All of them are free to play right in the browser.
