About the game
Klondike Solitaire is the classic 52-card patience game: play solitaire online free, with no sign-up or download, right in your browser on desktop and mobile. Move cards between seven columns, turn over the hidden ones and build all four suits on the foundations from Ace to King.
Choose your deal before you start: draw 1 is relaxed and wins more often, while draw 3 is harder because only the top of the three cards is playable. Play timed for a speed bonus, or untimed at your own pace. Hint shows a move, undo takes back a mistake, and once every card is face up the game finishes the deal for you. Your unfinished game and best score are saved.
How to play:
Move all 52 cards to the four foundations (top right), each suit from Ace to King. In the seven columns, build down in alternating colors: a red 5 goes on a black 6. Only a King, together with the cards on it, can fill an empty column. Tap the deck to turn cards onto the waste pile — one or three at a time, as chosen in the menu; when the deck runs out, tap it again to recycle the waste. Each recycle costs points: −100 in draw 1 and −20 in draw 3.
Controls: on desktop, drag cards with the mouse or click a card to send it to the best spot; keys: Space — draw from the deck, U — undo, H — hint, N — new game. On mobile, drag a card with your finger or tap it; Undo, Hint and Retry (new game) buttons sit at the bottom of the screen.

How to play
Klondike uses a single 52-card deck. Seven columns are dealt with only the top card of each turned face up, and the rest of the cards sit in the stock. Your job is to move every card onto the four foundations in the top right corner, one suit per pile, from Ace up to King. On the table you build downward in alternating colors, and an empty column can only be filled by a King, either on its own or carrying the whole stack on top of it.
When the table runs out of moves, turn cards over from the stock. The menu lets you pick the deal before you start: draw 1 is forgiving and wins more often, while draw 3 is the tougher classic, since only the top card of the three is playable. You can also switch on the clock — the faster you clear the table, the bigger your time bonus.
Once the stock and waste are empty and every card is face up, the game plays out the rest for you. It's free to play, and an unfinished game waits for you until you come back.

Desktop: drag a card with the mouse or click it to send it to the best spot; Space draws from the stock, U undoes, H shows a hint, N starts a new game.
Phone: drag cards with your finger or just tap one; tap the stock to draw, with Undo and Hint buttons along the bottom.

Tips
- Work on the columns with the most face-down cards first: every card you uncover opens new moves.
- Check every move on the table before you draw from the stock — the stock isn't going anywhere.
- Don't empty a column unless you have a King to put there; a gap without a King does nothing for you.
- Send Aces and Twos up straight away, but hold back threes and higher — they often serve as a base for cards of the other color.
- When you can move either of two cards, pick the one sitting on a face-down card.
- Recycling the stock costs points: −100 in draw 1 and −20 in draw 3, so don't cycle through it more than you need.
- In draw 3, keep track of the waste order: playing a single card shifts every triple on the next pass.
- In timed mode, finish decisively — the speed bonus grows the faster you complete the foundations.
FAQ
What are the rules of Klondike Solitaire?
Build all four suits on the foundations from Ace to King. On the table, stack cards downward in alternating colors — a red 9 on a black 10 — and only a King may go into an empty column. When you're out of moves, draw from the stock.
What's the difference between draw 1 and draw 3?
Draw 1 turns over a single card, so every card in the stock is reachable. Draw 3 flips three at a time and only the top one is playable, which can bury the card you need and makes the game harder. Pick the mode in the menu before you start.
Is Klondike the same game as Solitaire?
Yes. Klondike is the version most people simply call Solitaire — the one that came with Windows — and the rules here are the same.
Can I play solitaire on my phone?
Yes, it runs in your mobile browser. The cards are large: drag them with your finger or just tap one and it jumps to the best available spot.
